Language makes reality

"Language not only has the ability to allocate political power for all of us as a society, but also is the means and the medium by which we construct and understand oursleves as individuals, as coherents creatures, and also as members of a culture, a cohesive unit".
This means that language can be everything that people need to be connected with each other, and for the entire world to become just one. Is not anything we can touch or feel, but it is more important that many of the things we actually can, because it can change it all around, everything can be improved by the correct use of language.
It is important to the author's argument because he talks about how language has a huge power, that can be used for good or for bad, but is up to people to decide how to use it.

i can say that i totally agree with stefi.I agree with this quote because the more we understand ourselves as individuals, the better we know where we stand in the world and what role we play in society. Also, the more confident we are as a cohesive unit, the more we can work together to accomplish the important things in life.

Wow- you did an excellent job explaining that quote, and I definitely agree with your analysis. The quote definitely demonstrates how much power language has in our lives, and how much it affects our entire world. I like your explanation a lot: it "Is not anything we can touch or feel, but it is more important that many of the things we actually can." Good job.
