Resolving Conflict Assignment Topic
In my essay I'm going to talk about the two ways that are the most popular for college students to get intimacy with one another: dating and hooking up. I'm going to give the cons and pros of each one, and why do I think people choose to do either one. I'm also going to talk about how things have changed, from our parents' time to nowadays. My essay is going to be specific to these situations for college students.

Section 3: courting, dating or just hooking up. For inquiry.
As a college student I strongly agree with authors Grime and English. Things have changed since our parents’ college days and it doesn’t seem that is a change for good. Dating is no longer seen as it used to, is no longer what most guys and some girls look for, at least in college. They don’t go out on dates anymore. As English said in her article: “The dinner-and-a-movie date is all but dead. Today, campus social life centers around skimpy outfits and strong drinks”. I think one of the reasons is because college students think that they have an entire life after college to look for a serious relationship, so, why waste your time now in committing to one person, if you can just have a good time by hooking up with as many as you want?
I keep thinking that guys are more interested in hooking up than girls are. Guys feel much cooler when they hook up with many girls, and think that they look better to their friends, and they probably do, but is not the same situation for girls. The first thing that a girl will damage if she hooks up with many different guys, is her reputation, they way guys and other girls will think about her. There are many girls that don’t really care about it, because they say that they are just enjoying life and doing whatever they feel like doing, and probably after college they are going to move back home, and no one there is going to know what they did or didn’t during their college life. Girls are also more likely to get hurt, because as English said, they are the ones that usually develop feelings for the other one.
Of course there are still some people that believe in the “old fashion” dating thing. Those are the ones that are probably going to have a more healthy relationship life as they get older, because once you get used to doing something, normally you stick to it, because it is really hard to change it. These people that still believe in dating, and are involved in a serious relationship are normally more mentally stable. They don’t have to go from person to person looking for some fun, but they just found their happiness in that given person they are with. So, there is still some hope that college students could realize the benefits of dating and make it as common in quotidian life as it used to be, as Grimes said in her article: “A culture only lasts as long as people are willing to live it”.

Favorite Song
I actually have many favorite songs, and they are changing throughout the time. But there are some that stay with me for a longer time, one of these is Patience, from Guns n' Roses. The song talks about how a couple need to have some patience and wait until they can be together. I like because I can relate that to every aspect of my life. I think that we need patience if we want to accomplish important things during life. There is absolutely no reason to rush anything, and I believe that patience is a great virtue. I don't have much, so, that's probably why I admire so much the ones that do have it.
